Key Details

Full internal refurbishment of 6 no large staircases contained within purpose made 1930’s Holly Lodge Estate, built originally to house single women and children between the wars. The works included full internal redecoration, communal door intercom installation, fire stopping and fire door installation. New flooring, electrics, asbestos removal, carpentry and brickwork repairs were also undertaken.

Works carried out in an occupied building to the staircase demanded day to day tenant to tenant liaison.

All operatives as part of the induction to site were instructed to help people up and down the staircase through the work area as required. This included carrying shopping, prams and a caring arm for the elderly as they passed through the work area.

Tight programme schedules to minimize the time on site and disruption meant working in multiple locations on a continuous programme over all 6 staircases.

Daily on site management (non-working) ensured the contract was managed locally every step of the way.

Weekly project meetings revising cost schedules and programmes ensured the project was delivered on-time, on-budget and before planned programme completion.

Success on this contract enabled our company to build our local reputation and we went on to win Phase 2 of this work which is currently in progress.
